I don't get angry. Not even when I read those articles like I saw today in the Sunday Sun Easy magazine. It was titled "Where have all the good men gone?". I don't even get tempted to reply to statements like these since i believe that they are only meant to sell newspapers.

Not too long ago we were hearing men in crisis and boys in crisis. Then you hear Black men in crisis and it goes on and on and on.........

Sometimes it amazes me at the conclusions that people come to from a set of statistics.

One thing I am sure of is the exponential strides that Black men have made after going through the horrific experience of being enslaved, not to mention the failed attempt to mentally erase our history. In a short space of time after being ripped from our homelands we managed to eradicate the scourge from the world and continue the quest for a more humane and moral world.Nelson Mandela did it in South Africa just yesterday.

Words are powerful.Africans at home got convinced that they live in a poor country and that is what has been manifested by them when in fact Africa is a very rich country.

In Barbados my father told me stories that he could remember of gross inhumanities to Blacks in his time of living here.Having been borned in 1915 he would have lived through what he called the 'bad old days' in Barbados.

Thankfully I have never been duped into believing all the negatives that I hear, whether it be based solely on skin colour or gender.

I hate to look at the Barbados tourists site that give the history of Barbados. The ones that talk of Columbus discovering these islands and the other foolish tales that the Bob Marley and Burning Spear called 'mis-education'.I agree with them as a matter of fact Burning Spear referred to Christopher Columbus as a 'damn blasted liar'.Thank god for Rastafari. One of the funniest stories is the one of the bearded fig tree and the name Los Barbados which was supposed to mean 'the bearded one'. In the words of Gary Cole from the book reflections; The Colonization of Barbados is one of the darkest events and evil stories of modern history.Four centuries ago,Spanish and Portuguese slavers started to kidnap, kill and drive out the thousands of peaceful Indians found on the island the Indians called Ichirouganaim. The exact location of the island was a carefully kept secret but Spanish and Portuguese soldiers and sailors knew the island as the barbarous island,"Los B
I am trying again.I am trying to get an Internet connection for my mobile phone through Cable and Wireless and it is proving to be a very difficult undertaking. As I said in a previous post they are sending me in circles and I am kind of enjoying it now.I just want to see how long it will take me and the excuses they are giving me.I called the Cable and Wireless customer care number yesterday and the rep told me to go back to the outlet again and tell the attendant to manually configure the phone since it cannot be configured automatically. If this doesn't work she said to ask for a senior person and tell them and it shouldn't be a problem. So I will be going to the Cable and Wireless outlet in Cave shepherd again today to see what happens. Now I explained to the customer care rep on the phone that I did all of this already(except asking for the senior person) and it didn't work.I queried as to if it would be possible for she to give me the information so that I can configure
