Christmas in Barbados today is quite a bit different from in the days of my childhood.I guess as with most things today it is very commercial.The banks offering loans to go,new credit card offers arriving in the mail and all the trappings of a business driven lifestyle. No more horse carts or donkey carts,no traditional Christmas carols or very few of them.No children running around and playing as in days of yore but as things improve things will change and you get the good with the bad.Barbados is still Barbados and I suspect that we are still Bajans so I know how Christmas will be for most this year.Eating,drinking,shopping and forgetting.......
I actually watched a little of the Golf World Cup today.I didn't go by the Sandy Lane Course.I watched it on Channel 8. Golf is just not very exciting to me but I know quite a few people who are fanatical about it.From all reports the hosting of the golf world cup in Barbados has generated quite a bit of international exposure for this island.I was wondering how the course at Sandy Lane compared to the others in the world. Listening to the commentary it seems on par with just about any anywhere in the world. It was surprising to know that a lot of the Bajan Caddies didn't get passes to view the golf ...
